History of Medicine

History for the Future Albert Einstein recommended we “learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.” Benjamin Franklin's wisdom advised us to “enjoy the present hour, be mindful of the past…and he that teaches himself, hath a fool for his master.”

The History of Medicine Series is developed by The Medical Teaching Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization whose purpose is to offer high quality educational materials to healthcare professionals to further enhance the practice of medicine and the care of patients. All materials are provided free-of-charge and projects are funded through independent educational grants. It is the goal of the Foundation to provide historical educational content in many relevant therapeutic areas.
